In a tribute to all the good that has come from the American experiment, with respect for the scientific and technological fruits of western civilization, and with just a bit of mocking of knee-jerk patriotism, we dedicate this robotic kinetic sculpture on this day, the Fourth of July, 2002. website

I made a second copy after giving the original to the folks who took me on a trip to Antarctica.

In the '80s I saw a presentation where a robotics class had taught a robotic arm to dance. It was pathetic. In the '00s I built American Glory that gave a better performance with fewer degrees of motion. But now, in the '20s, Boston Dynamics show us how dancing is done.
